Touch Screen is an interactive input device integrated onto electronic display. The operator can simply give the instruction by touching the touch screen.

Resistive Touch Screen :
Consists of two conductive layers. The top layer is ITO film while the bottom layer can be either ITO film or ITO glass. The top layer is suspended by very small spacer dots and the smallest dot. When the operator touches the touch screen, the conductive inner surface of the ITO film makes contact with the conductive coating on the top surface of the ITO film or ITO glass. Then, the controller senses the touch and passes the information to the corresponded IC.

Capacitive Touch Screen :
Touch Screen: Is an all-glass touch screen with double side transparent conductive coating. There is electrode pattern printed along the edges distributes a low voltage field over the conductive layer.
When a finger touches the screen and draws a minute amount of current to the point of contact, creating a voltage drop. The current flow from each corner is proportional to the distance to the touch point. The X/Y location of the point of contact is calculated by the controller and transmitted to the computer.

Touch Screen is the preferred choice in many applications:
Public access, gaming machines, POS (Point of Sale), kiosks, ATM, industrial controls, PDA.

4 Wires Touch Kit:
The preferred solution for low cost applications. The coordinate X axis of the touch point can be detected by measuring the voltage value thru the top ITO layer and the coordinate Y axis of the touch point can be detected in the same way by changing voltage input to the top layer's electrodes.

5 Wires Touch Kit:
The preferred solution for applications requiring durability and reliability over time.
Similar to the 4-Wire technology, 5-Wire touch screen also consists of a conductive bottom layer (ITO Glass or ITO Film) and a conductive top layer (ITO Film).
The fundamental structure difference between the two is: in the 5-wire technology, all the electrodes are placed on the bottom layer and the top layer acts only as a voltage measuring probe. Therefore, the touch screen works properly even with damages or scratches on the top layer.

8-Wire Resistive Touch Screen: the touch screen controller can automatically correct the drift issue resulted from the harsh environment exposure or long time usage, so is the preferred solution for applications requiring accuracy and no re-calibration over time.
